The Face-Lift Continues: Minor League Style

Continuing his efforts to stabilize the foundation of the Mets, Omar Minaya has totally revamped their scouting department. Adam Wogan is not their director of minor league operations, coming from the Nationals/Expos organization, where he had worked for the past 8 years. From 2002 - 2005 Wogan was the Expos/Nats Farm Director, and who placed him in that position? Omar, of course! Wogan replaces Kevin Morgan, who had served as director of minor league ops with the Mets since early 2001. Morgan is staying with the organization, however, moving into his new role as coordinator of instruction for the Mets minor leagues. He replaces Bobby Floyd, who has since been named manager of the Mets Rookie-level Gulf Coast League team.

Additionally, Omar named Bryan Lambe, former special assistant to the GM with the Diamondbacks, and Scott Nethery, a long-time Braves employee, as his special assistants. This continues Omar's restructuring of the entire organization, from the medical department to the scouting department, and everything in-between! Omar is making this into a first class organization, from top to bottom, and that's why we need to give him time to let all his plans come to fruition before judging him on a single transaction or hire.
