Mets @ First Critical Junction of The Season

Having lost 2 of 3 in back to back series to the Phils and Brewers, and with series against the Cardinals and Yankees about to start, the 2006 Mets face their first critical junction of this season. We have to stay focused and stay cocky, and remember that we are led by battle-tested vets like Martinez, Glavine, Lo Duca, Wagner, Beltran & Delgado, with young studs like Reyes and Wright needing this as a learning experience as to what pennant-contending baseball is all about. We still have a great team, in spite of current injuries, with the $ available to fix anything that comes up. We also have some great young players on the cusp (Soler, Milledge & Pelfrey) that will soon compliment our key core group. All is FAR from lost, as we are still leading the division and have one of the best records in baseball. However, the coming week will prove to be a great litmus test as to how far we have already come, and how far we still have to go, in order to be a true pennant-contender. Keep our collective chins up, as now is the time to have even more faith then ever that we can make this our year. In the words of the immortal Tugger, "YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!!!" Now let's make it happen!
