Pedro's boot

Tara Sullivan at North Jersey.com writes about Pedro Martinez and the removal of hi boot:

Pedro Martinez removed the boot protecting his strained right calf long enough to go on the field and play catch prior to Wednesday's game. Martinez, on the disabled list since Aug. 15, will continue to wear the boot for at least another week, but can take it off periodically for workouts.

Tuesday "was the first day I took it off. It felt better but it was still a little sore," Martinez said. The veteran wouldn't commit to any timetable for his return -- he's eligible to come off the DL on Tuesday. "I don't really know what to expect," he said. "I have to see how I react once I push my arm again."
