The valentin problem

Jose Valentin left today's game in the fifth inning with a left hamstring strain.

Chris Woodward replaced Valentin, who was 2-for-3. If this is a DL-type strain, the Mets may find themselves in the market for another infielder(Soriano). If that doesn't happen then they may be forced to work internally. Anderson Hernandez and Ruben Gotay are struggling at Triple-A Norfolk, so it's possible that Edgardo Alfonzo will need to be called up.
