Cabrera's promise

Bryan Hoch at Mets.com writes about Miguel Cabrera and his promise to Willie:

As Randolph was concluding his pregame press conference, Marlins third baseman Miguel Cabrera dropped by in his street clothes, interrupting with a surprise visit.

"We're going to win today," Cabrera said.Randolph arched his neck to identify the source of the deep baritone voice, then chuckled.

"It won't matter," Randolph said, "but that's all right. I like his confidence."

Nice promise to make when you're best pitcher is on the mound agenst a guy with a 4-11 record. Why didn't he make that same claim agenst Glavine? I'll tell you why. He didn't want to look like an idiot.
