Thoughts on Perez

I don’t know how you can be both masterful and horrible in the same night, but Oliver Perez pulled it off quite well. Perez was touched for four earned runs and struck out eleven in his fourth start for the Mets last night.

This kid has so much promise that it gets me so excited to imagine a refined Perez and Pelfrey pitching back to back.

Any way I still don’t know how to feel about Perez. He has a masterful game and then will have a couple that make you want to walk out of the stadium or change the channel. If he could learn to harness his ability, he could be one of the best in the game once again since his 2004 season since posting a 2.98 earned run average.

Let’s just hope that Peterson can get a hold of this kid and wright his wrongs and get him under control.
