Mets Sign Cuban 1B "Prospect" Michel Abreu - Franco Says He's Too Young!!!

Well, folks, file this one in the "nothing to lose" folder...as the Mets signed Cuban defector Michel Abreu on February 3rd. Abreu (no relation to Bobby, sadly) was originally signed by the Red Sox last fall, but they thought they were getting a 26 year old slugger with major league potential; well, the good news is that he STILL has major league potential, but he's turning 31 tomorrow (February 8th). That's a combination of 112 years at 1B for the Mets, between Franco, Delgado and ABreu. In dog years, they're older then the 1001 Dalmations...
