Peterson Postulates On Preventing Premature Problems For Prospective Pitchers...

In today's Asbury Park Press Online, Michael Riley restates Mets' Pitching Coach Rick Peterson's view on youth pitchers, stating that youth baseball leagues should prohibit children under the age of 15 from pitching at all. Rily quotes Peterson: "I don't even think they should allow kids to pitch at all in youth baseball. They should allow coaches to pitch until the kids are 15. That would help keep arm injuries down."Peterson believes kids should do rotator cuff exercises and practice long-tossing, and that throwing lots keeps your arm healthy. Another reason why we love this guy!!!
