Floyd's On Fire!

~ Another good sign for Mets' fans- Cliff Floyd has come back with a vengence! He hit another dinger today, along with Carlos Delgado, and since hitting homers in 2 games in a row, Cliffy's promise to his teammates to be a bigger factor in the second half is coming true! If Floyd picks up the slack from the 6-hole, that allows Beltran, Wright or Nady to not worry as much if they happen to drop into a slump (NOT that we are hoping or expecting that, but you never know!)

~The closer we get to the trade deadline, the more it seems unlikely that we will acquire a front-line or even #2 starter. Frankly, at this point, we'd be more interested in acquiring Gil Meche for some minor leaguers then sending Aaron Heilman to the White Sox for Freddie Garcia. Hey- here's a novel thought- why don't we just give Aaron Heilman a shot to start???

~Sad to see Jeff Keppinger go- hope he doesn't become the next Jeff Kent! Kep - we hardly knew ya!
