Franco Faces An Entire Town!
Well, not quite...but it's amazing to think about just how many pitchers Franco has faced in his long career. From ESPN's Buster Olney :
Julio Franco has faced 1,127 different pitchers during his career, none more than Jack Morris; he had 114 plate appearance against Morris.
Okay, 1,127 is actually a bigger number then many town's populations...perhaps Franco can travel in the off-season to a small town in Wyoming and square off against the entire population, on at a time??? And to think- Morris has been retired for 12 years already! Franco continues to amaze- all those egg-whites later!
