Green to debut tonight

Shawn Green will make his Mets debut on Thursday, but it will be a reunion of sorts for him and six other players on the club.

Green said in a conference call with media on Wednesday from Arizona that having friends in the Mets' clubhouse will help him with the transition to a new team.

"It will be exciting to be playing with them again," said Green of Carlos Delgado, Paul Lo Duca, Orlando Hernandez, Guillermo Mota, Duaner Sanchez and Chris Woodward. "I keep in touch with Carlos every week or two, so it will be nice to be playing alongside him and the other guys."
