Pedro Will Be Fine...All In Good Time...

At first thought, I was getting discouraged after last night's game, hoping somehow that Pedro would rear back and hit above 90 on the radar gun. The reality is, the Pedro who will take the mound for us in game one of the play-offs is not even the same Pedro who took the mound for the Red Sox 2 years ago during their World Series run. He won't hit 93-95mph once in a while, certainly not right now...and that's okay. He wasn't dominant yet last night, but his pitches had finesse, and he was his usual masterful speed mixer. His fastball might have topped out at 84, but his off-speed stuff came in at a low 69 with the difference making hitters heads spin. He only gave up 3 earned runs and struck out 7, and with another start under his belt, he'll be ready to roll in game one...and maybe, just maybe, Mr. Pedro is playing a bit of "possum" with how fast he can bring 'em right now...there's always hope...
