Pelfrey recalled

Kevin Fiorenzo at Mets.com writes about the call up of Mike Pelfrey:

With the pennant race heating up, the Mets added an arm on Wednesday in the form of Mike Pelfrey, who was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.

Pelfrey, who went 2-1 with a 5.48 ERA in four starts for the Mets, was optioned to Norfolk on Aug. 2, when the Mets had six men in the rotation and needed to cut someone loose.

While with Norfolk, Pelfrey went on the DL after straining a right lat muscle, but the rookie quickly recovered and started for the Tides on Aug. 26, allowing one hit and three walks over three innings.

Though he hasn't pitched in 3 1/2 weeks, he said that he feels good and is ready to go."It's all right, just one of those little nagging injuries," Pelfrey said.
